About the partnership
The Marches Education Partnership is a collaboration of education and training organisations, working together on ambitious, new, skills-boosting projects. The shared aim is to provide the required training to meet demand as industry moves towards a better, more sustainable future.
This partnership mainly includes Telford College; Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College; Shrewsbury Colleges Group and is supported by other local education and training providers.
The partners are committed to working together on a series of initiatives to support our industries by identifying skills gaps and creating course content to meet the changing landscape of what is required. This includes upskilling the existing workforce, future proofing our courses and raising awareness across the Marches area.
The first project that brought the Marches Education Partnership together, was in Health and Social Care. The aim of this project was to support the recruitment and retention of NHS & social care staff, boosting skills and encouraging newcomers to the sector.
The project was very successful and as a result the partnership has secured new funding to deliver a project in low carbon, renewable technologies. Each college is currently undertaking extensive building works, ensuring we are ready to offer the very best training in Electric vehicles, Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Ground Source / Air Source Heat Pumps, Underfloor Heating and Water Harvesting.
To support the project’s objectives, we are excited to launch our mobile training unit which will tour the Marches area delivering technology-led and practical training. It will be equipped with virtual reality headsets, simulated at-work training facilities, an immersive cave, and other training software which is being developed specifically for the partnership.
