Progression and benefits

Our newly constructed Centre at Holme Lacy in Herefordshire has bespoke training rigs and components that simulate real-life conditions. All learners will be able to take advantage of these purpose-built facilities and gain industry-recognised qualifications upon successful completion. We aim to keep class sizes to under 8 so all learners get an opportunity to practice the skills and knowledge gained during the course prior to being assessed.

Entry requirements

The BPEC Heat Pump Systems Installer training course is designed for qualified plumbers, heating engineers, oil or gas engineers who wish to install Heat Pump Systems and already hold a recognised NVQ Level 2/3 or earlier equivalent qualification. In addition, if not included within the formal qualification, the individual MUST hold WRAS Water Regulations (which we can deliver separately or as an additional day to the main course).

About the course

The sessions cover requirements to size, select, install, commission and handover heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits). The programme is structured to be completed over 3 days: Heat Pump Technology (2 days) and Air Source (1 day). The course material has been designed to meet the requirements of the National Occupational Standards QCF units, Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Installer Standard and the Heat Pump industry/manufacturers criteria for the installation of domestic sized Heat Pumps.

For a limited period, fees are discounted to £95 (standard fee £670). This is a limited allocation of government discounted training places and special conditions apply.

The fees shown are the standard cost for the course. However, various discounts/grants may be applied depending on personal circumstances. Please contact via email on lcttc@hlnsc.ac.uk.
